Ceratopteris thalictroides, also known as Indian fern, oriental waterfern, water fern, and water hornfern, is found in swampy areas of forests, swamps, and marshes where there are stagnant bodies of water. It is a common aquarium plant is can be either free-floating or rooted in substrate.
It makes a great aquarium plant because it is able to thrive in a variety of conditions. Low – High lighting and varying water qualities don’t create an issue with C. thalictroides. The delicate looking leaf texture of water sprite adds to its beauty in the aquarium.
